Hot on the back of their live concert movie ‘Ashes of American Flags’, Wilco (The Album) looks to be one of the more eagerly anticipated albums so far this year.

Possibly to negate the ‘problematic’ pre-release internet leak, Wilco have done it themselves, streaming the entire album in full through www.wilcoworld.net

Wilco (the album), still sounds very polished and clean – but tracks like ‘One Wing’ and ‘Bull Black Nova’ see Wilco (the band) return to the sound and atmosphere found on ‘Yankee Hotel Foxtrot’ and ‘A Ghost is Born’, a little darker than ‘Sky Blue Sky’, but still sharing the same melodic tweet, and americana groove (tracks like ‘You’ll Never Know’ and ‘Wilco (the song)’ offer a permanent reminder of the bands live dynamics

I’ll be gorging myself on the stream as much as I can before the album actually makes release (June 25th) – and feeling all the better for the fact it’s guilt free!
