Archive for March, 2010

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, to anyone who has had a passing interest, seem like a kooky retro-throwback band. Tracks like ‘How Long’ and ’100 Days’ ooze the funk and soul that seems a long time gone. Thanks to the lovely people at NPR (who we should all donate to support), I’ve been drowning in [...]

Arctic Monkeys – My Propeller (video)

Posted by: benny In: Listen

‘Humbug’ is one very good album, and ‘My Propeller’ is one of the highlighters therein. Probably one of the tracks on the album to strongly feature producer Josh Homme’s influence, it’s a dreamy and smile worthy track for every the most tone deaf. Fantastic drums too.

Pavement kick off world tour – in NZ

Posted by: benny In: Listen|Play|Watch

Proving what we already know to be true, New Zealand is a great place….to start off a world tour! Normally, bands play NZ at the end of grueling world tours, but the recently reunited Pavement chose Auckland to perform for the first time together in close to 10 years. Yeah, I’m too cheap and too [...]
