The Breeders – Mountain Battles

Posted by: benny In: Listen|Reviews

The Breeder’s have always managed to set themselves apart. You hear them, and instantly, you know who you are listening to (assuming you have a historical awareness of them of course). Their songs have never followed a path that seemed to be familiar to any one but them. ‘Last Splash’, easily one of my favourite [...]

Death Cab for Cutie – Daytrotter Sessions

Posted by: benny In: Listen

Death Cab for Cutie’s soft, mopey indie offerings have come to mean more and more to me over the last few years. As a listener completing my 365 albums project I wasn’t initially sure how I felt about them. Perhaps having become a breeder and gaining a few more years perspective in life has meant [...]

Portishead – Third

Posted by: benny In: Listen

Regular clockers of shotbro will already know my stance on Portishead. Still, with their new album available as a stream thanks to Last.fm, I had to check it out. I don’t want to spoil it for everyone – but at a first listen, it seems….interesting. Check it out here.

No real intro needed. Two men, a guitar, some drums. Akron, Ohio’s Finest. Even Dave can’t believe it.

Weezer – Pork and Beans – Updated

Posted by: benny In: Hookups

www.weezer.com is streaming the full track ‘Pork and Beans’ now. A nice surprise for me on my return home from a weekend away (not so nice was the fact it had been so cold in Wellington, my iMac was too cold to start up). I can now see why this track has got so many [...]
