Electronic music has generally always left a ‘disposable’ feeling on me. What was popular in Electronica in Christmas 2000 is now only a lingering memory, but what was good with a guitar then still sticks with me now (like Coldplay’s ‘Parachutes’ or ‘Kid A’). Daft Punk has always an exception to the rule. They’ve been [...]

The Foo Fighters are regular visitors to New Zealand, having last played here in November, 2005. Both shows, in Wellington and Auckland, sold out. Their last album, the critically acclaimed Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, [...]

I only caught the tail-end of the webcast, but thanks to the wonders of YouTube, and the trainspotters at Pitchfork, I have now managed to catch the bulk of it. The work put into this piece of [...]
It seems to be the week of gig announcments in Wellington. This time another reunion band, KISS have announced a one off gig at the Westpac Stadium as part of a two day concert ‘Rocktacular’. (That’s what the promoters are calling it). Ace Frehley and Peter Criss may have gone, but Gene Simmons and Paul [...]

Man…here’s a reunion that I never thought would happen. Announced on Campbell Live this evening, Split Enz are scheduled to do a three date tour on New Zealand (Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland) in March 08.
